Chitons manuals have information in them, but they will only tear down one car for that model generation and not do any other ones. The book was based around a 80’s s10 blazer with a 2.8 v6 while I bought it for a 91 with a 4.3 v6. So they have infor on the 4.3 engine one but it’s not what the tear down pics and stuff are for.
Bought as a gift for my daughter. She was away at college several hundred miles away and her truck broke down. It was easier and cheaper to ship this to her overnight than to drive there. She already had a decent set of tools and is very capable of doing her own repairs-she pretty much grew up in the shop with me and did her first brake job at age 11. She used this book to pull the code and used daddys credit card at the parts store then made the repair and was back on the road in time to get home and give me a hug on my birthday! She still uses it anytime she needs to.
Just purchased a 1994 S10 Blazer which needs a few repairs that I wanted to do myself.Having been an aircraft mechanic, I do know how to use tools, just needed a littletechnical help. Not having worked on this kind of vehicle, I decided to get this manual,hoping for some graphics and tips.It is none existing. A total waste of money. Wound uppurchasing a shop manual on ebay. A little used and dirty but it actually covers allcomponents. Perhaps if you are an experienced auto mechanic and just need some critical specs,o.k. For us shade tree mechanics, not so much.

Not the best manual for major repairs. It covers the basics, but nothing on chassie or body.
The Haynes books are okay, but could use More Detail photos for removal of parts and locations of where they are on the engine. As well as placement location on the vehicle, where the engine is still inside the vehicle.I needed to find and repair the Oil Pressure Switch on my '91 Chevy S-10 4 cyl. 2 WD. The location given in the manual was very difficult to find, especially when not knowing exactly what I was looking for. I found it easier to reach and remove, by looking through the Passenger side front Wheel well. It was just behind the flat, right next to the Distributor, and UNDERNEATH the manifold. Something the Haynes instruction left out.
This manual is everything you could possibly need for wanting to repair your car, with detailed step, by step instructions on just about everything on the car, With photos. If you want to save money and fix your own car, Haynes manual is the way to go. I strongly suggest this for experienced mechanics, and people who dont really know much at all.
