In 1997, she was presented with the Neiv Orleans Times-Picayune Loving Cup for the hundreds of hours she dedicated to the New Orleans Museum of Art and other nonprofit organizations in the city.She received the Southern Foodways Alliance's Lifetime Achievement Award in 2000 and, in the same year, was presented with the Ella Brennan Savoir Faire Award for Excellence, conferred by the New Orleans chapter of the American Culinary Fed-eration. In 2009, the Southern Food and Beverage Museum created the Leah Chase Louisiana Gallery in her honor. She is the author of The Dooky Chase Cookbook and is the subject of a biography written by Carol Allen, titled Leah Chase: Listen, I Say Like This. Both are published by Pelican.

Leah Chase is considered the "Grande Dame" of Louisiana cuisine....in particular Creole cuisine. This cookbook is an outstanding addition to any serious home cook's collection. The recipes are true to form New Orleans food at its best. If you want delicious, decadent and satisfying Creole food, then look no further for great recipes. If you're looking for low-cal and low-fat? Well then, this is NOT the cookbook for you. It's rich and delicious food!

Amazing recipes and written by an amazing Chef. Hands down best chef in New Orleans. This is what New Orleans cuisine is all about.

I looked for the sweet potato pie recipe for a long time, so I was very excited to find it here. this lady can cook! I highly recommend this cookbook to anyone who loves southern cuisine!

This book picks up where The Dooky Chase Cookbook left off. More stories about the history of the restaurant and about her own personal history, and plenty more recipes. A few--just a few--were repeated from the Dookie Chase Cookbook, but the rest are brand-new entries...and ALL of them make you want to get up and start cooking right away when you read them! Anyone who loves New Orleans and its culinary traditions will be pleased with this title.

Another delightful return to recipes from the Queen of Creole cooking.
